Vincil "Vince" Ernest DeLay, Sr., 98, of Davenport passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Manor Care Utica Ridge. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in The Runge Mortuary Chapel with visitation from 5-8 P.M. Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Toys for Tots.

Vince was born January 4, 1919 in Iowa City, IA to Albert S. S. and Eunice Gertrude (Emery) DeLay. He was a proud US Army veteran. Vince was a graduate of University of Iowa. He met the love of his live, Joy Andrews 34 years ago. Vince enjoyed traveling and dancing.

Vince founded Electric Motor Service, Davenport in the late 1950's; which diversified into the Commercial Food Equipment service in the early 1970's.

Those left honoring his memory include five sons: Vincil "Vince" (Aurora) DeLay Jr, Albert (Grace) DeLay, Donald DeLay, David (Suzette) DeLay and Matthew (Minnie) DeLay; his lifelong companion, Joy and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
