Nancy Ernestine Broyles, age 86, of Somerset, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Rockcastle Health and Rehabilitation Facility, in Brodhead.

Ernestine was born on June 18, 1931, in Pulaski County, daughter of Marshall and Flora O’Neil Burnett. She worked for years with the Palm Beach Company and with the Oakwood Communities, of Somerset. Ernestine was a lifelong member of the Burnett’s Chapel First United Methodist Church. She loved gardening and working with her flowers, spending time with family and friends and playing with her cats.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Greg Broyles (Angie), Angela Hudson, Tina Broyles and Marshall Shaun Broyles; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Donna Bierer.

Preceding Ernestine in death are her parents; her former husband, Harold Broyles; her sons, Harold Wayne Broyles and Marshall Osburn Broyles; and her infant daughter, Mary Jeanine Broyles.

A Celebration of the Life of Nancy Ernestine Broyles will be held on Monday, September 25, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company, with Pastor Marvin Cromer officiating. Interment will be in Burnett’s Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 25, 2017, from 11:00 a.m., until time for funeral services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Pulaski County Alzheimer's Respite Center or to the American Cancer Society.
