GARNER, John D. of near Fortson, Ga., died suddenly at his residence at 5:00 a.m. Sunday. He had been in declining health for sometime.
Mr. Garner was born September ??, 1863, and had lived in the vicinity for the past 29 years. Surviving are three sons, Jessie, Charlie, and Preston Garner of Columbus; four daughters, Mrs. Hazel Gamble, Mrs. Richard? Scarberry, Mrs. Laura Hester and Mrs. Polly Gamble, all of Columbus; one sister, Mrs. Eliza Kelly, of Columbus, also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from the residence near Fortson at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. A. J. Cone officiating. Interment will be in Riverdale Cemetery.
