Julia Holloway Rogers, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away on September 16, 2017 at Jefferson Reginal Medical Center surrounded by her family.

She was born on July 12, 1932 in Grady, Arkansas.

Julia confessed hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized at Richardson Chapel MB Church in Yorktown, Arkansas. She later moved her membership to Sneed MB Church where she remained a faithful member until her homegoing.

She experienced her early education was in public school in Little Rock, Arkansas, and later attended college in Little Rock. She met and married the late James Rogers in 1951 and from this union they were blessed with 10 children.

Julia was a devoted mother and grandmother. She dedicated her life to the community because she loved people. She was very active within the community where she lived and work. Her passion was to help people with whom she came in contact with. She was a strong advocate in giving rather than receiving. She served as secretary for the Carnel Russ Chapter of the NAACP, served as secretary and clerk of Sneed Chapel Church, served as a board member on the Lincoln County Single Parent Scholarship Fund, served as a secretary of Sneed Chapel, Polk Chapel, and Richardson Chapel cemetery club, served as secretary of the local chapter of Arkansas Community Organization for Reform Now (ACORN), and she served as a board member on the Traditional Employment Association (TEA) a member of the Eastern Star and as the taxi driver for the community.

She taught her family to support each other, love each other, and have faith in God. She showed her love and faith in God by sharing her time, talent and resources with others particularly her children.

Julia was preceded in death by her husband, James Rogers; her parents, George Holloway and Lucille Holloway; and three brothers: George Holloway, Charles Holloway, and Bernard Holloway.

She is survived by five daughters: Annette Johnson (Dave) of West Memphis, Maxine Snow (Dennis) of Pine Bluff, Carolyn Freeman (Billy) of Star City, Wanda Threatt (Larry) of Oklahoma City, OK, and Sherry Smith (Edward) of Little Rock; five sons: Donald "Bo" Rogers of Pine Bluff, Herman Rogers of Fulton, MS, Marshall "Red" Rogers of Star City, George Wayne Roger (Magnolia) of Star City, and Ivory Rogers of Memphis, TN; her step-daughter, Cynthia Bland of Kansas City, MO; twenty-three grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Geraldine Taylor of Arlington, TX; her cousin, Mildred Tucker Bell of North Little Rock; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a multitude of friends.

The funeral services will be held in St. Ollie Baptist Church in Star City with Rev. Sherman Rochell, Jr officiating. The internment services will be held at Sneed Chapel Cemetery.
