Aaron Julius Bidner (Jack), 72, of rural Gibson City was taken to be with the heavenly angels on Tuesday (Sept. 19, 2017).

Jack was born to Owen and Geraldine Bidner in Champaign, Illinois on March 15, 1945. On Oct. 10, 1992, he married JoAnn (Jo) Smith in Gibson City, Illinois. She survives in rural Gibson City.

He is also survived by a daughter, Julie Mathis; a son, Neil (Beth) Bidner; stepsons, Daniel (Jan) Rotramel and Jeremy (April) Rotramel; stepdaughter, Christina (Tony) Jacobsen; his mother, Geraldine Bidner; stepmother, Lois Bidner; one brother, Gary Bidner and four sisters, Gay (Dick) Preston, Susan (Steve) Martin, Cheryl (John) Johnson and Kim (Marvin) Clemmons.

Jack is also survived by three grandchildren, Justin and Conner Mathis and Megan Bidner; seven step-grandchildren, Ian, Isaac and Austin Rotramel, Tony and Katie Jacobsen and Darian and Chelsea Craddock and one step-great-grandchild, Annistyn.

Jack was preceded in death by his father, Owen Bidner; brother, Wayne Bidner; granddaughter, Caitlyn Mathis and stepson, Phillip Rotramel.

He retired from People's Gas as a main operator after 37 1/2 years. In the earlier years, he also farmed with his father and later farmed with his wife, JoAnn.

Jack loved hunting, fishing, gardening, canning, and his grandchildren.
