John "Pappy" Yeakley age 80, of Reading Pa., went home to be with the Lord, passing away Suddenly at his home on the evening of September 19, 2017.
Pappy worked most of his lifetime as a sheet metal worker; He served his country proudly serving in the United States Navy. Pappy will be sadly missed by his many friends in Reading. He had a kind loving spirit about himself.
He leaves behind his loving adopted daughter, True Portalatin; and his adopted son, Terry Lee Walker Jr., both of Reading.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday September 27, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, 621 Church Street, Reading, PA, with Rev. Jeffery D. Bell Sr. officiating. Pappy will be laid to rest at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville Pa., with full Military Honors. Stanton Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. Honey Brook has been entrusted with the services.
