James Engle, 65, of Morganton, NC died Thursday, September 21, 2017. Born in Burke County, NC on February 24, 1952, he was the son of the late James Richard Engle and Virginia Margaret Pritchard Engle. James was a member of Mulls Grove Baptist Church and was a former member of Riverside Baptist Church. He loved to cook and feed his family.
James is survived by his daughter, Allyson "Nicole" Engle Ramsey of Old Fort, NC; twin granddaughters, Stephanie and Kelly Ramsey; grandsons, Michael Ramsey and Kyle Wheelon; and his special friend, Marcy Greene of Lenoir, NC.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by twin grandsons, Christopher and Anthony Ramsey; a brother, Harold Engle; 2 beloved aunts, Myrna and Linda Engle; and an uncle, Max Engle.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 pm, Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Mulls Grove Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 3 pm in the church with Brother Bud Jernigan and the Rev. Tom Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
