Lena Mae Anderson was born June 5, 1939 in Allendale, South Carolina. She was the beloved daughter of the late Leroy and Rosetta Brown Kelly. She passed away at her home on September 21, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. In addition to her parents, Lena was predeceased by her daughter: Constance Anderson; and brother: Leon Kelly.
Lena was a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington’s Class of 1957. Throughout the years, she remained an active alumna. For more than 30 years, Lena worked at Richland Memorial Hospital (now Palmetto Health Richland) as a Sterile Prep Technician. She loved playing Bingo with her friends. She also enjoyed shopping, traveling and sewing. After her retirement, Lena especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a very strong woman loved life and lived it to the fullest. She will be missed by all her family and friends.
