He was a native of Milwaukee, WI, and a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a retired engineering tech for the Army Corps of Engineers, with 37 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elsie Helding Bittorff and his sister, Shirley Granger.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., a family-owned and operated funeral home centre, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Monday. Expressions of sympathy may go to his church.
