Celeste was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Howard Eugene Smith; brothers Weston McCoy, Carl L. McCoy, Billy C. McCoy; and sisters Grace Graves Conrad and Shirley Kelly. Her long life was one of hard physical work and sacrifice for her family and others as she worked in cotton fields, gardening, sewing and cooking. She received great joy in giving to others in need. In addition to the physical work, she also worked at Lowenstein’s Department Store in Memphis and retired after 26 years. She will be missed, but we will see her in a better place.
