She was the widow of Loman Mills and was a member of the Poplar Grove Baptist Church. She had been head cook at Flat Lick Elementary School for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents Daniel & Loeda Griffith, her husband Loman Mills, daughter Effie Barnes, son George Billy Mills, grandson Candy Mills, and five sisters, Polly Hensley, June Blakely, Edna Daniels, Shannon Griffith, and Lynn Shaw.
Survivors include her three sons, James Loman Mills, Jr. and wife Viola of Corbin, Tommy Gene Mills of Flat Lick and Barry Keith Mills of Manchester, two daughters, Ina Jenanen Gray of Barbourville and Barbara Tuzzoli and husband John of Corbin, two sisters, Maxine Baker of Ohio, and Mary Goodin, ten grandchildren, Tammy Marie Mills, Melissa Danielle Williams, Gary Anthony Gray, Nicole Mills, Jason Mills, Billy Jo Mills, Travis James Thomas Ballard, Michael Woolwine, Stephanie Dixon and Andy Mills, eight great grandchildren, Casey Wyatt, Cody Gray, Logan Porter, Keyley Mills, Kylei Faye Ballard, James Canaan Ballard, Kenly Mills and Cameron Mills. She also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Christine Mills will be conducted in the Cobb Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, September 22, 2107 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dennis McCoy. Pallbearers will be family & friends. She will be laid to rest in the Amis Cemetery at Flat Lick, KY. Cobb Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Cobb Hampton Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
