Lorraine Katherine Porter, the daughter of Arthur and Leona Anderson was born on November 13, 1925 in Alexandria, MN. She grew up in Alexandria and graduated from Central High School in Alexandria in the class of 1943. Lorraine married Roy Porter on October 20, 1946 and where married for 57 years. Together they raised six children, Terry, Sandy, Patricia, Kathryn, LaVonne, and Teresa.
Lorraine cleaned homes for 20 years in Alexandria for many different families through the years. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed canning, making people laugh and going for car rides. Lorraine was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She will be forever missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Sandy Dvorsak of Alexandria, Patricia (Eugene) Odegard of Alexandria, Kathryn Porter of Alexandria, LaVonne (Oscar) Benson of Waskish, MN, and Teresa (Steven) Roquette of Alexandria; grandchildren, Todd (Lisa) Porter, Troy (Laurie) Porter, Devin (Julie) Odegard, Stephanine (Ken) Odegard Anderson, Ryan Odegard, Evan (Sarah) Dvorsak, Elyse (Rob) Green, Amy (Jayson) Ellingson Tilleskjor, Derek (Chelsea) Ellingson, Chad (Lisa) Roquette, Penny (Dave) Roquette Mellenthin, Patty (Jaime) Roquette Jewitt; daughter-in-law, Brenda Porter (Marty) Chevalier of WI; 26 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Calvary Lutheran Church with the Reverend Wayne Erickson officiating. Interment was in the Kinkead Cemetery. Casket Bearers were all of Lorraine's grandsons. Honorary Casket Bearers were all of Lorraine's granddaughters.
