He was was born in 1926 to the late Harry B. and Rachel Wills. He was also preceded by his first wife, Ida Eddy Mabes.
He was retired from General Electric and was a member of First Christian Church in Salem.
Surviving are his wife, Lottie Owen Mabes; daughter, Betty Jo (Carl) Schultz; sons, Dennis (Karen) Mabes and Kenneth (Catina) Mabes; nine grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; brother, Ralph (Doris) Mabes and sister, Marie (Donald) Dents.
A service of interment will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem.
A memorial service will then follow at 11:00 am at First Christian Church with Rev. Dan Netting officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the church.
