June 28, 1937 - September 18, 2017 (age 80)

BIOGRAPHY
Monte Ray Hutchings, age 80, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the Beaver Valley Hospital in Beaver, UT. He was born on June 28, 1937 in Beaver, UT to Raymond and Louise Hutchings. He grew up in Beaver where he graduated High School in the Class of 1955. His life would then be uprooted when he decided to spread his wings and head to southern California where he started dating the love of his life Brenda "White" Hutchings. A year and a half later they were married on July 25, 1958. He worked as a framer in Southern California and then after completing his training became a general contractor, later moving his family back to his roots in Beaver. Monte is responsible for a large portion of construction in Beaver County; He either built or remodeled most of the homes and businesses currently standing in Beaver today. You can't take a turn in this little town without seeing some of his handy work and craftsmanship. He wrapped up his career working as the maintenance supervisor for the county jail where he was revered for his kindness to not only staff but inmates as well. In his earlier years he served in the JC's working to help grow and promote the local rodeo and horse track. He was a horseman, marksman, hunter and friend. Some of his hobbies included building rifles, reloading and knife sharpening. He was well known for making quick witted smart-alecky remarks; he was always the life of the party in any arena. His humor, smile and charisma will be sorely missed by many. The joy of his life was family; he excelled at being a husband, father and grandfather. He loved teasing and joking each and every one of them, no one was exempt from his love. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Brenda Hutchings; daughters - Terrie (Gene) Gatza, Sherrie Martin; mother - Louise Hutchings; brother - Martin (Vicki) Hutchings; sister - Karen (Gene) Lund; 5 grandchildren - Brittany, Clay, Daniel, Sara and Cori; 12 great grandchildren - Donovan, Abriauna, Brayson, Waylon, Chloe, Savanna, Brielle, Landon, Presley, Paisly, Asher and Wyatt.
