She was raised on a farm and graduated from Lexington High School in 1957.
LaVawn married Larry Prasch who was with Farm Bureau Insurance Company and they moved to Papillion, Nebraska. They divorced shortly thereafter.
She then went to work in the Sarpy County Courthouse where she met and later married Dick Whitted. After they left the sheriffs office LaVawn and Dick went to San Francisco where Dick attended Mortuary School. They then lived in California, Oregon, Arizona and settling in Idaho.
LaVawn always wore a smile and had a sweet disposition, she had a close relationship with her Lord Jesus Christ.
