MR TERRY WAGGONER

June 13, 1944 ~ May 15, 2015 (age 70)

Our beloved husband, father, and brother, Terry Van Waggoner, went to his heavenly home on Friday, May 15, 2015.

Terry was born on June 13, 1944, in Del Rio, Texas. As a youth, he was an Eagle Scout and an extraordinarily bright young man who graduated from Texas City High School at the age of 16. Later, he attended the University of Texas and graduated with a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Most remarkable is Terry’s academic achievement of Juris Doctor, when he graduated valedictorian from Southern California Institute of Law at the age of 61.

Terry’s patriotic love for his Country led him to join the Army in the Vietnam War era. He was selected to be part of the distinguished 7th Special Forces 82nd Airborne Division.

Terry was a born leader and held several Senior Management Positions at Mitsubishi where he was in charge of Aircraft Financing, Tricon Leasing and Avnet as V.P. of Sales in the area of equipment leasing.

During the retirement years, the vibrant and energetic Terry continued in the workforce as a mediator, substitute teacher, and most recently, crew member at his favorite store, Trader Joe’s in Camarillo, CA.

Terry was a proud member of the Patriot Guard Riders. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and hiking Mount Whitney.

Terry loved and adored his children and touched the life of so many people.

He is preceded in death by his two fathers, Henry Van Buren Waggoner and Arthur Gaty Simons; his sister, Deborah Ragland; nephew, Navy Aviation Electrician Stuart Dayton; and all of his grandparents.

He is survived by his mother, Angela Simons; wife, Beate Christina Waggoner; children: Marc Waggoner, Jessica Gwaltney, Sgt. First Class Jeremiah Waggoner, 82nd Airborne Ranger, and Jericho Shannon; siblings, Sherry Wells, Janis Dayton Tangeman, John Simons; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Conejo Mountain Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 2052 Howard Road, Camarillo, at 3:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be sent to The Wounded Warriors Project.
