Troy was born July 31, 1949, in Tennessee, to James and Helen (Davis) Cooper.
He married Michelle Harris on June 16, 1984 at Calvary Baptist Church in Tremont.
Surviving are his loving wife, Michelle of Goodfield, and children, Gina (Greg) Dunbar of Eureka, Timothy Cooper, Rachel (Richie) Culp, Alex Cooper, all of Goodfield, and honorary daughter, Jessica of Tremont; seven grandchildren, Brianna, Olivia, Sarah, Charli, Sophia, Marley, and Jude. Also surviving are two brothers, James (Peggy) Cooper and Ray (Sonya) Cooper, all of Washington; three sisters, Charlene (Roger) Opper of Metamora, Sherry Miller of Gilbert, Ariz., and Gena (Scott) Thompson of Eureka, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Malcolm and Helen Pauline (Davis) Cooper; his brother Ronald Wayne Cooper; and uncle Don Wilson Davis.
Troy served in the United States Airforce from 1969 to 1975. He was employed at DMI (CNH) for 40 years before retiring in 2015. Troy cherished his time with his family and was a loving husband, father, and "pop" who will be missed by many.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Wed. Sept. 20, 2017 at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. An additional visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m., Thurs., Sept. 21, with a funeral service following at 11 a.m., with Troy's nephew, Phil Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Roberts Cemetery in Morton.
