Jeannie Wallace, 73, of Lufkin died Tuesday, September 19, 2017 in a Galveston hospital. Graveside services will be held in the Old Palestine Cemetery in Alto with Pastor Charles Williams officiating.

Mrs. Wallace was born September 2, 1944 in Jasper, Texas to the late Bonnie (Beard) and Albert C. Romero. She was a graduate of Jasper High School and had resided in Lufkin since 1968.

Mrs. Wallace was a loving mother, grandmother, favorite sister, favorite aunt, and friend. She accepted people from all walks of life and never missed a chance to share Jesus with strangers. She was deeply loved in return. Mrs. Wallace nourished people around her with love, faith and strength. She was a faithful and dedicated friend to all who knew her, and a shining light of love and goodness to the lost, weak, and unloved. She was always ready to give or get a big laugh to lift anyone’s spirits.

Mrs. Wallace had an unwavering faith in God and loved her church. She had been a member of Restoration Worship Center for 25 years, where she served her Lord as a born again Christian. She spent her time serving faithfully as a morning door greeter, sharing love, compassion, and a warm smile with everyone who crossed her path. Mrs. Wallace was full of joy for everyone, getting and giving hugs from babies, youth, and adults.

Mrs. Wallace enjoyed her home and taking care of her yard. She had a heart for animals and never missed a chance to rescue lost dogs and cats. Her joys were her two cats, Zippy and Fancy.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Stewart and Sheri Wallace of Bastrop; grandchildren and spouses, Jeremy and Katrina Wallace of Garland, Marci and Carl Kincheloe of Austin, and Hunter and Elizabeth Wallace of Orange; great-grandchildren, Madison Wallace of Garland, Wyatt Kincheloe and Ashlyne Kincheloe, both of Austin; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Ted Hancock of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Marie Wallace of LaPorte; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Joe and Leighanne Hancock of Lufkin, Susan and Chad Shoopman and Sophia of Ora Valley, Arizona, and Richard and Lorna Wallace of La Porte.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bobby Glynn Wallace; daughter, Pamela Michelle Wallace; and brother, Jimmy Romero.
Pallbearers will be her son and grandsons.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Winnie Berry Animal Shelter, c/o Humane Society of Angelina County, P.O. Box 472, Lufkin, Texas 75902.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
