George was born in Havana, Cuba on June 6, 1939 and was the youngest of seven children. After the Cuban revolution, he decided to settle in the USA in Washington State in 1960. While employed at Boeing, he pursued studies at the University of Washington and eventually earned a Master's Degree in Engineering in 1964. In 1969, after employment in the private sector, he co-founded an engineering consulting business, Perametrix, with his lifelong friend and business partner Waite Dalrymple. George remained at Parametrix until his retirement in 2005.
On a personal note, George had an upbeat attitude in life. He loved his family, his profession, his pets, and everyone around him. He loved the waters of the Puget Sound and spent time on his boat whenever he could. His children were practically raised on the boat. Most friends and coworkers will remember him because of the disrupting noise and laugh that always seemed to precede him. He loved good Cuban cigars and Bacardi Anejo rum, but most of all he loved his family, friends, and his adopted country.
