Ms. Kimberly A. Harrison, 52, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday September 16, 2017. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.

Kim was born in Nyack, on December 20, 1964 to the late Wayne and Patricia (Arquiett) Arquitt. She attended St. Lawrence Central in Brasher Falls. For several years Kim worked as a waitress and hostess for numerous restaurants.

She was blessed with a free spirit and a kind heart. As some might call her a ‘tree hugger’; Kim had a great love for nature, back road rides, her plants and animals. Her rock collection and green thumb allowed her to fully embrace Mother Nature’s beauty.

Kim was well traveled. She lived in various parts of New York before moving to California, Vermont and Pennsylvania. She spent a large part of her life in Erie, PA. before returning to the north country. She loved to explore and was always looking for the next adventure.

Kim would find the best in anyone she met and always tried her best to keep a positive outlook on life.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jamie Chase and her fiancé Joe Coffey of Gouverneur, and Makala Francis, at home; her siblings, Tim and Penny Arquitt of Winthrop, Pam Snyder of Brasher Falls, and Sam Arquitt of GA; nieces and nephews, Shayne and Wyatt Arquitt, Tia Snyder, and Brett Snyder, Brianna Arquitt, and Omid Small; and her fur baby, Bruiser.

Family and friends are welcome to join her family for a graveside service, which will be held Friday September 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Union (Buckton) Cemetery, located on the East Part Road in Winthrop. A Celebration of Life luncheon will follow at the American Legion in Winthrop.

Flowers are gratefully declined. For those wishing to express an act of kindness, memorial contributions may be made to: the Massena or Potsdam SPCA.
