Joann was involved with both the Philoptochos and the Daughters of Penelope. She attended Liturgy frequently and, with time, developed a special relationship with the Panagia who was forever special in her life. As an expression of her love she cared for others and became known as the Greek super caregiver. It was this gift that she had of caring for the elderly that touched the heart of those families who were fortunate enough to have Joann walk beside them in their time of need.
Joann was also known for the depth of her faith, always giving thanks, and looked forward with joyful anticipation to prayer and the reception of the Eucharist.
Joann is survived by her daughters Katherine (Parmesh) Chetty, Barbara Janjic and her grandchildren; Christopher, Anastasia and Philip, and family friends Martha Lorenzen and Jim Holden. She is preceded in passing by her husband Kenneth and daughter Elizabeth.
