Jamie J. (Usrey) Wright, 98, of Linton, peacefully left this earth and entered Heaven on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017.

She was born July 10, 1919, in Linton to James Henry and Mayme (Cunningham) Usrey. She married Donald F. Wright on Feb. 4, 1949.

Jamie graduated from Indiana State Teachers College (now ISU) and held a bachelor’s and a master’s degree. She was a teacher for over 40 years, 38 years at Linton schools, before retiring in 1981. Jamie also worked alongside her husband as secretary/treasurer of his business, Wright Refrigeration, Inc.

Jamie was a member of the Linton First Christian Church, Order of Eastern Star Columbian Chapter 140, Greene Co. Retired Teachers Assoc., National Teachers Assoc., National Education Assoc. and Retired IN Teachers Assoc. She had been active for many years in her church, singing in the choir, playing the piano and organ and teaching S.S. classes. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband, Don, and many friends in their motor homes, where they visited all the 48 states, Canada and Mexico.

Survivors include four grandchildren, Amy (Kenny) Fulford, Christine (Dean) Radcliff, James R. Lundy II and Nicole (Ed) Brown; great-grandchildren, Jasmine and Tyler Jones, Chance and Christopher Radcliff, Dakota W Compton, John ‘RJ’ and Hunter Levi Johnson, Levi and Lexi Fulford; and special friends/caregivers, Jim, Bette and Bryant Meng, Jenna, Nathan, Neely and Corinna Brown.

Jamie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald F. Wright; a daughter, Sherri Lundy; a son, Ronald Joe Wright; two sisters; two nieces; and a nephew.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21, at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Pastor Archie Ellett officiating. Jamie will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
