Jane Barnett married Amos Conaway on January 7, 1813 in Bourbon County, Kentucky. The marriage bond was signed by Amos Conaway and his father William Conaway. William represented Jane, which is consistent with Jane's father being deceased. Jane and Amos moved to McLean County, Illinois in the late 1820s.
Jane's husband Amos Conaway died in December, 1838 at age 46. Jane was head of the household in the 1840 and 1850 US censuses for McLean County, Illinois. At the time of the 1850 US census, son Amos age 21 and daughter Jane age 23 were living with Jane. Son James Barnett and his family were living next to them. More information about Jane's children is given the memorial for her husband Amos Conaway.
A small older gravestone has Jane's death on September 28, 1852. However, a large newer gravestone has her death on August 28, 1852. We would assume the older gravestone would be the correct death date.
