Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Haven of Memories in Canton, Brother John Ziegler officiating. Visitation is Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Eubank Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Dallas - time to be announced.
She was born Aug. 4, 1912, in the Wallace community near Canton to James T. "Jimmy" and Sallie L. Henderson Dawson. She grew up and attended school at Wallace, Canton and graduated from Wills Point High School. She attended Trinity University one year, and came home to teach in rural schools. She graduated from North Texas University in four years with a B.A., attending summer classes so she could continue to teach in Wallace, Wise, Myrtle Springs and Stone Point schools. After graduation she taught in Port Arthur for four years before coming to Dallas to teach at Roger Q. Mills and Bayles Elementary where she taught 5th grade until she retired in 1973. She was very interested in challenging the minds of her students. She especially loved to write plays to music for the students to perform.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Lawler; brothers: Paul, Blanks, Jack and Bill Dawson and sisters, Evelyn Tunnell and Nadine Morris.
Survivors include her niece, Nan Morris Clark; sisters-in-law, Kathryne and June Dawson; a number of other nephews and nieces, and a host of friends - all of whom knew her and loved her.
She was a faithful member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Dallas, and a member of Eastern Star and The Class Room Teachers Association.
