Lloyd E. Root, Lampe, MO son of Edward G. and Mary A. (Rogers) Root, was born December 5, 1939 in Hillsboro, IL and departed this life on September 16, 2017 at the age of 77.
He had been a resident of the area for twenty-two years, moving here from Granite City, IL. He retired from National Steel. He was a member of the Kimberling City Elks Lodge, the Table Rock Masonic Lodge and the Stone County Shrine Club.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruby Garris.
Survivors include: his wife of 58 years, Charlotte Root of Lampe, MO; two sons, Michael Root and wife, Julie of Maryville, IL and Steven Root and wife, Brenda of Granite City, IL; one daughter, Michelle Reeder and husband, David of Collinsville, IL; one sister, Pat Buzick of Collinsville, IL; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 20, 2017 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Stumpff Funeral Home Kimberling City, MO. Masonic Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Worshipful Master, Fred Ybarra officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Table Rock Masonic Lodge Kimberling City, MO.
