Dr. Rolf A. Weil, age 95. Beloved husband of 71 years to Leni Metzger Weil; loving father of Susan Weil and Ronald (Carla Tomaso) Weil; treasured Opa of Maddy and Ellie; dear friend and colleague to many. Rolf was born in 1921 in Phorzheim, Germany and spent his early childhood in Stuttgart. He escaped the Nazi regime in 1936 and landed in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago. Rolf attended Hyde Park H.S. and the University of Chicago where he received a B.A., M.A., and PhD. in economics. Rolf went on to become a professor of economics, dean of the business school, and then president of Roosevelt University from 1946 until his retirement in 1988. Rolf was also a founder and president emeritus of the Self Help Home from 1976-2005. He was a lover of teaching, education, travel, and most of all, his dear family. Funeral service Tuesday 2:30 PM at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd, Wilmette. Interment New Light Cemetery, Lincolnwood. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Roosevelt University, 430 S. Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60605 or the Self Help Home, 908 W Argyle Street, Chicago, IL 60640.
