Mr. Fred A.L. Herring, 93, of Corning, AR., passed away Sunday at his son's home in Corning. Mr. Herring was a farmer. He proudly served his country as an Ariel Engineer Gunner in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. He enjoyed working, gardening, reading, and singing gospel. He was a Deacon at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Corning.

He married his 1st wife, Irene Helen Perdue, on May 8, 1948. He married his 2nd wife, Louise Guthrey, on April 10, 1996. She survives, other survivors include his six children David (Tammie) Herring of Corning, AR., Anthony (Christina) Herring of Walnut Ridge, AR., Dian Wisdom of New Jersey, Jim & Sheila Sartorius of Cedar Falls, IA., Rick & Beverly Milburn of Cherokee Village, AR., Keithel & Beth Berry of Jonesboro, AR.; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his first wife he was preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth and Arlie Herring ; six brothers Ralph, Ray, Gerald, Joe, Con and Wes Herring; four sisters Floy Gates, Claudean Bolen, Jane Forbes, and Marie. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Corning Public Library, and Corning Lions Club.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday 2:00PM at Ermert Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Tuesday 12 Noon until time of service.

Serving proudly as pallbearers will be grandsons and friend.
