Golda DeSpain, 85, of McClelland Court in Campbellsville, died on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002, in Lebanon, Ky. Daughter of the late Albert Allen and Zanie Allen, she was born on July 28, 1917 in Taylor County and attended The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. DeSpain was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville. She was married to Elzie DeSpain on Jan. 7, 1932. He preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 1991.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Essie Brewer, Nell and Harlan Hash, and Judy and J.D. Bell, all of Campbellsville; nine grandchildren, Gary Brewer, Troy Hash, Caleb Bell, Clay Bell and Angie Newton, all of Campbellsville, Derrick DeSpain of Shepherdsville, Timmy DeSpain of Buffalo, Patricia Macias of Laverne, Calif., and Kim Winner of Loretta, Tenn.; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Altha DeSpain of Campbellsville. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Leroy DeSpain and Norman DeSpain; and one brother and one sister, Lilburn Allen and Nova Nemes.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville with burial in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Caleb Bell, Clay Bell, Gary Brewer, Timmy DeSpain, Troy Hash and David Newton.
