A Memorial Mass was held in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott for Joseph Leroy "Brud" Guidry, 88, who passed away October 10, 2020 at Magnolia Estates in Lafayette. Inurnment followed in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.

Leroy was born in Lake Charles, LA and was a resident of Scott and Lafayette. He was a plumber, employed with Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 106 of Lake Charles for 50 plus years, and lately belonged to Plumbers & Steamfitters 198 out of Baton Rouge, LA. He was an Assistant Business Agent of Local 106 for 9 years before he retired.

He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 9822 and the American Legion. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean Conflict. He loved to play Dominos and Bouree, was a great cook and loved to cook for his family and friends. He also enjoyed camping.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Helen "Sue" Porrier Guidry; two sisters, two brothers, five nephews, four great nephews, and four great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Libbon Guidry and Amithilde Savoie Guidry; and brother-in-law, Henry Legnon, Jr.
