Mrs. Freida (sic) Kuhn, 77, a resident of Willowdale Nursing Center, New Holstein, and formerly of Kiel, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1993 at the nursing center.
The former Freida Voelkner was born Oct. 5, 1916 in Princeton, Wis., a daughter of the late Frank and Clara Langhoff Voelkner.
Reinhold Kuhn and Freida Voelkner were united in marriage on June 8, 1940 in Fond du Lac. The couple farmed in the Town of Herman many years, retiring in 1962. Freida continued to work over 20 years at Lakeland College in the food service department, retiring in 1983. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Schwartzwald for many years and was active in the church choir. Reinhold preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1981.
Funeral services for Freida Kuhn will be held Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Simmer Funeral Chapel, Howards Grove, Rev. Lloyd Fried, officiating. Interment will be in the St. John U.C.C. Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at Zimmer Funeral Home of Howards Grove, on Tuesday, from 4 p.m. until time of services.
Survivors include one son, Albert of Fond du Lac; one sister, Mrs. Henriette Smith and one brother, Albert Voelkner, both of Fond du Lac, nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
