Connie Rae [Newton] Orel, 45, Flora, died at 10:31 a.m. Friday, July 31, 1992 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 3, in the Chapel of Hosselton, Bookhout, Engelmeier Funeral Home in Clay City, with Rev. Charles Allen officiating. Burial was in the Clay City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Clay City Baptist Church.
Mrs. Orel was born July 20, 1947, in Sailor Springs, IL, the daughter of Paul and Bernie (Mitchell) Newton.
She married Jerry Orel July 18, 1980, in Flora. She was S.P.C. Coordinator for Cape Holman in Flora (formerly Sunbeam Plastics). She was a member of the Clay City Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Jerry of Flora; parents, Paul J. Newton of Texas and Bernie Gustafson of Wilmington, IL; two sons, Jeff Hohlbauch and Doug Keppler, both of Clay City; one step-daughter, Holly Orel, and one step-son, Shannon Orel, both of Flora; one sister, Sandra Cooper of Wilmington, IL; two granddaughters, Brooke and Gracie Hohlbauch, both of Clay City.
Mrs. Orel was preceded in death by her grandparents.
