John Roscoe Bearden, son of W. A. and Sarah Bearden, died at his home in St. Louis on May 31, 1914. He was born on February 17, 1898, 16 years, three months, and 14 days. He was sick for about three months with hemorrhage of the lungs and became very weak but was only one week confined to his bed. A few minutes before death came he told his mother he was going to sleep and not to worry. He leaves a father, mother, two sisters, and three brothers besides a host of relatives to mourn his departure, which is said to us all, but God knows best.
