Funeral Services for Mike Beierle, 74, who passed away at the Thompson Nursing Home in St Edward on March 28, where he had lived for the past two years, will be held at 2pm Friday at the Gass Funeral Chapel with the Rev Carl Goldenstein officiating. Burial will be made in the Columbus Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Gass Funeral Home from 11am Thursday until the hour of services.

He was born in Butler County where he was engaged in farming, later moving to Columbus. He was a member of the Lutheran Church.

On August 25, 1897 he was married to Caroline Bock, and to this union were born nine children.

He is survived by seven sons, Vern, Jesse and Chester of Columbus, Howard and Floyd of Long Beach, Calif., Clarence of Dix, Nebraska and Alfred of Liberal, MO, one daughter Clara Sprunk of Columbus: four sisters, Mrs. Emma Clause, Mrs. Anna Bock and Mrs. Lena Shay of David City, and Mrs. Laura Taddiken of Shelby; and brother Thomas of David City and 21 grandchildren. He was predeceased in death by his parents, one daughter one brother and three sisters.
