Jimmie Darrell Coleman of Phelps, KY born on May 15, 1952, at Matewan, WV a son of the late Cleo and Martha Catherine Lambert Coleman entered into the peaceful rest of his Lord and Savior on Thursday evening September 14, 2017, surrounded by his beloved family while a patient in the Pikeville Medical Center of Pikeville, KY. Jimmie was 65 years of age. In addition to his parents those that precede Jimmie in death include two sisters Patty Ann Coleman and Tammy Elaine Jones.
Jimmie was a retired UMWA Mine Worker having worked for Caney Branch Coal Company of Phelps, KY and Ken Karr Coal Company also located at Phelps, KY and the EH Hatfield Coal Company, which was at Hardy, KY. Jimmie was a Christian whose God given talents were manifested and used for the Lord in music, art, and intellect. Although he was a man who wore many hats of talents his greatest blessings were his wife and sons.
Those that survive Jimmie include his wife Bonnie Kaye Lambert Coleman of Phelps, KY, his sons Shawn and Shannon Coleman of Phelps, KY, sisters Carol Sue Guffey of North Carolina, Sandra Kay Legg and her husband Zane and Susie Gibson both of Columbus, OH brothers Douglas Coleman and his wife Sandy of Grove Port, OH and Stevie Keith Coleman and his wife Mary of McCarr, KY.
A host of beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews as well as a multitude of family and friends that will forever cherish his memory also survives Jimmie.
Services honoring the life of Jimmie will be conducted on Monday September 18, 2017 beginning at 12:00 p.m., in the Chambers Funeral Services’ Chapel with Pastor Opie Harris officiating, burial will then follow in the Billy Dotson Cemetery of Phelps, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will begin receiving friends on Sunday September 17, 2017, in the funeral home chapel at 6:00 p.m., with a service being held at 7:00 p.m. with Bro. Brandon McGuire presiding.
