Bobby Yates, 57 of Charleston went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday September 12, 2017 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Carl Yates, Sr.

Bobby worked for the West Virginia State Police, Institute Detachment in the Maintenance Department. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved hunting and fishing. He’ll be most be remembered as a stand out baseball player at Dupont High School and West Virginia State University and by his wonderful sense of humor that always left people laughing.

He is survived by his wife Tammy Gail Yates; children, Amber Wentz, Mallory Hicks, Bobby Bush, Brett Yates and Tyler Yates; eight grandchildren; mother, Deloris Arlene Yates; sister, Diana Bounds (Samuel Sr.) and brother Jeff Yates (Kathy) .

Memorial Service will be held at 4:00pm Saturday September 16, 2017 at Glad Tidings Apostolic Church, 2029 Bakers Fork Road, Charleston with Pastor Samuel Bounds Sr. and Samuel Bounds Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
