Mr. Michael David Nease
April 28, 1989 - October 29, 2016
Michael D. 'Mike' Nease, 27, of Kennesaw, Georgia, died on October 29, 2016, as a result of injuries sustained after being hit by a drunk driver. He was born on April 28, 1989, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Jeff Nease and Christine Lauer. He graduated from Crisp Academy in Cordele, GA in 2007, where he was an All-State football player and a member of the basketball, baseball, and track and field teams. He was enrolled in Georgia State University with dreams of becoming a teacher and coach.
Mike is survived by his mother Christine Lauer, and husband Bob of Roswell, GA; his father Jeff Nease and wife Carol of Raleigh, NC; his brother Ryne, also of Raleigh; his sister Emily Nease Kelleher and husband Jack of Suwannee, GA; his sister Paige of Durham, NC; his step-sister Amber Wellington and husband Randy of Washington, DC; and his step-brother Brad Johnson of Raleigh. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Glenn and Teresa Lauer of Lady Lake, FL, and his paternal grandparents, Joe and Ireta Nease of Parkersburg, WV. He is survived by beloved nieces, Emma Scanlon, Charlotte Kelleher, Abigail Kelleher, of Suwannee, and Isla Wellington of Washington. He also leaves behind two special uncles, David Lauer of and Mike Anthony of Eleanor, WV, Ashton Moste, Hunter Moste and Michele Nease of Durham, NC, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Mike was a gentle giant with a tender heart that touched so many.
We will be honoring his life and legacy with a Memorial Service in Roswell, Georgia, as well as a Celebration of Life in Garner, North Carolina. Please see event dates, locations, and times below.
The Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 2:00pm at The Gilbert House, 38 Sloan Street, Roswell, Georgia.
The Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rand-Bryan House, 2518 Benson Road, Garner, North Carolina.
