STONEWALL, LA – Services to honor the life of Michael Wayne Lance, 72, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive guests on Monday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Michael was born on June 12, 1945, in Bakersfield, CA to the late Henry and Viola Lance and passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. He had previously been employed with General Motors as a skilled tradesman until an unfortunate "on the job" accident halted his career. After his untimely retirement, Michael spent his days enjoying his family and the life he had been given. He was a wonderful husband, Dad, and grandfather and will be deeply missed.

Michael is preceded in death by his son, Randy Lee Lance; brother, Jim Lance; three sisters, Hallie Lance, Maxine Smith, and Edlou Kennedy; and his parents. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janet Lance; sons, Damian Lance and Scott Lance; daughter, Dana Newberry; sister, Janice Ponciano and husband Walt; grandson, Dalton Lance; and five great-grandchildren.
