Susan L. Saunders, aged 72 years of Hopewell Twp. and formerly of Fairfield Twp. passed away under the care of Hospice on Thursday evening September 14, 2017 at her residence. She had been in declining health for the past few months.
Born in Bridgeton, she was the daughter of the late John W. Ferguson and Jean (nee Loper) White, and the wife of the late Joseph E. Saunders who passed in 2012.
Susan was a graduate of the Bridgeton High School Class of 1964; she and her late husband had owned and operated S and J Restaurants for many years in Fairfield Twp., Upper Deerfield Twp., Cedarville, Hopewell Twp., and Fortescue until Joe’s health started to decline. She was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan.
Susan is survived by her caregivers, Princess Pratt of Philadelphia, Ami Coia of Vineland and Lauren S. Champion also of Vineland.
At Susan’s request, there will be no funeral services. Interment will take place privately in Fernwood Memorial Park, Hopewell Twp.
