Catherine Delores (Jones) Hoskins, was born to Freddie and Katherine Jones on September 4, 1934 in Homer, Louisiana. She departed her earthly vessel on September 13, 2017 at the beautiful Hospice of Dayton. She was the last of her family to enter the gates of Heaven.

Catherine attended Terrebonne High School in Homer and preceded to Southern University in Baton Rouge, where she met and married Robert L. Hoskins, her doting life partner of 62 years. The two married on August 14, 1955 and their devotion to one another has served as an example of Christ's sacrificial love towards us.

After moving to Dayton, Ohio with her husband, she worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for years while simultaneously obtaining her Bachelor's degree in Education from Central State University in 1974. She went on to obtain her Master's degree in Special Education from Wright State University in 1980. For 25 years, she taught children with special needs at Belmont High School and was a tender advocate and fierce protector of "her kids".

Besides her husband, Catherine's other passion was Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Initiated in 1974 into the Dayton Alumnae Chapter, it would be an understatement to say Catherine was an active member of the sorority. She was a charter member of the Montgomery County Ohio Alumnae Chapter and served as Chapter President from 1994-96. She was a Golden Life Member, chaired and/or served on many committees and served in so many other capacities throughout the years.

Catherine was a member and supporter of Wayman Chapel AME Church in Dayton, happily serving on the Usher Board.

Preceded in death by her parents; five sisters and two brothers,

Catherine leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Robert, many special nieces, nephews, numerous relatives, and numerous friends who became relatives.
