Mrs. Patricia Cartrette Hendrix, age 73, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at McLeod Health in Cheraw after an illness.
Born in Marlboro County, SC, on January 1, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Baker Cartrette and Manila Bradley Cartrette. She was employed for many years in retail sales for Bi-Lo and was of the Baptist faith. She was the widow of the late John Barry "Billy" Hendrix. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grand mother, sister and friend to all.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Burroughs & Cooper Funeral Home officiated by Mr. Larry Pate, Sr. Burial will follow at Grant Cemetery in Bennettsville. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Burroughs & Cooper Funeral Home.
She is survived by her son, Michael Ray Hendrix of Kernersville, NC; by 3 daughters, Charlene Jones (Michael) of McColl, Darlene Wilkes of Bennettsville and Teresa Hunt (Wayne) of Clio; thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband listed above; 2 brothers, James C. Bess and Charles Ray Purvis; and by a grandson, Daniel Lane, Jr.
