Before retirement, he was employed in the textile industry and spent 17 years at Monarch Mill. After his retirement, he busied himself performing lawn maintenance and repairs for various individuals throughout the community. A devoted Christian and member of New Hope Baptist Church, he was the sound engineer and primary grounds keeper of the church.
Surviving Mr. Brock are four children; daughters Linda Brock, Christy Brock, and Kimberly Brock, and son; Brian "Red" Brock, four step-children; Ashley Lawson, Matthew Lawson, Jesse Lawson and Courtney Lawson; nineteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving Mr. Brock are a sister; Peggy Phillips and three brothers; Buddy Brock, Gene Brock, and Jimmy Brock. He was predeceased by a sister, Deedee Florence Deputy and a brother; Olin Howard "Wink" Brock.
The families are at their respective residences.
The family would like to thank the staff of M.S.A. Hospice; Stephanie Sherbert and Courtney Lawson for the care they rendered Mr. Brock.
