Jacob Rushing son of Matthew and Sarah Harrell (Howell) Rushing was born in 1810 as his family was beginning to leave South Carolina for their move to Mississippi.
They homesteaded for a while in Scott County, Mississippi before moving on to Franklin County, MS.
He married Lucinda Cynthia Price in Hinds County, Mississippi, May 26,1830.
He died in 1860 in Pike County (what is now the West Lincoln area of Lincoln County), MS.
Jacob's burial location is undocumented, but he is strongly believed to be buried at Union Hall Baptist Church Cemetery, which is in the current day Lincoln County, next to his spouse, Lucinda Cynthia and where his son Joseph Calvin Rushing is buried also. This is where we have placed him at this time.
