John Manley Forbes of Boylston, age 22, enlisted July 31, 1862 in Worcester, Massachusetts. He was taken prisoner of war at the Battle of Cedar Creek in virginia on October 19, 1864 and died of diarrehea on Janueary 13, 1865 at Salisbury, North Carolina.

Born in boylston November 24, 1839, the son of George and Susan Winslow (Ball) Forbes.
