Bonnie Ann Hendrix

90, of Fortville, died September 13, 2017 at St. Vincent's Hospital Fishers. She was born August 7, 1927 to the late C. Herbert Kroeckel and Bernita Ann (Colson) Kroeckel in Indianapolis. At age 3, her family moved to Fortville, Indiana where she attended Center School, graduated from Fortville High School and met her future husband George L. Hendrix.

Upon graduation, she attended 2 years at Indiana University, while her fiancé served in the US Navy Pacific Fleet during World War II. They were married November 10, 1946 by Rev. Estal Taylor at the Fortville Christian Church and celebrated their 70th anniversary in 2017. In 1952, they had their first and only child, G. Lenzy Hendrix Jr. Bonnie continued to work as a secretary/bookkeeper for Midland Lumber, Ecoff Trucking, US Army AG School and Finance Center. She was an honorary retired member of Psi Iota Xi Sorority, member of the Cyntheanne and Fortville Christian Churches and co-chair of Celebration 88. She and her husband traveled extensively throughout the US/ Europe, wintered in Palmetto, Florida and volunteered in many community activities.

She is survived by her husband, son Lenzy (Gerald) grandchildren Andrew (Crystal), Elizabeth (Tracy), Michael (Jill) and Victoria; great grandchildren Aidan, Bennett and one on the way, her sister Alice Kaye Wilson, brother Toddy Kroeckel, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 7 at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville and services Monday at 11 at Cyntheanne Christian Church Fishers with visitation an hour before. Burial will be at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville.
