Edith Bernice (Faucett) Thrasher, 91, of Bloomington passed away at her home in Bloomington on Friday, March 2, 2007.

Born on Sept. 26, 1915, in Greene County near Solsberry, she was one of nine children of Rhodolphus and Ada Anna (Hosteter) Faucett.

She retired after teaching for the Bloomington Metropolitan Schools and the Monroe County Community School Corporation for over 20 years. She coached the women's golf team at Bloomington High School South. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority and the Indiana Retired Teacher's Association. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels from the time she retired until shortly before her death and was a long time member of the First Baptist Church (now First United Church).

Survivors include: her daughter Suzanne Thrasher of Salt Lake City, a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Beth Thrasher of Bloomington; grandchildren, Amanda Thrasher Dubinski and Rob Dubinski of Bloomington, Leila Wissel Tredemeyer of Los Angeles and Sonia Wissel Salari of Salt Lake City; two great-grandchildren, Leila and Rana Salari of Salt Lake City, Utah; and many nieces and nephews.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Pryor Thrasher; by her parents, Rhodolphus and Ada (Hosteter) Faucett; sisters June Wilson, Claire McKay, Hazel Scott, Rosamond Holmes, Mabel Freeman, Mary Shields; brothers, Homer Faucett, Laudice Faucett and an infant brother who did not survive at birth.

Service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at First United Church in Bloomington. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bloomington.
