SHELIA LOUISE JACKSON, born June 20, 1951, the daughter of Teresa Freeman and the late Jared Rudolph Beads, Sr., departed this life on October 25, 2003 after a lengthy illness.Shelia, affectionately known as "Penny," was born and raised in Baltimore City and attended the Baltimore City Public School system. After receiving her diploma, she furthered her education at the Community College of Baltimore and received her Associate of Arts in Business Administration.Penny was also devoted to God. Early during her childhood she was taught to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ. This course she faithfully continued throughout her life.On June 29, 1968, Penny changed her name from Shelia Freeman to Shelia Jackson by marrying the only love of her life, Edward Lewis Jackson. This union would last 35 years and blessed them with four daughters, Vivian, Crystal, Deidre and LaTanya. Penny was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.Penny loved to read, travel and dance. Whether her dance partner was her husband Edward or her cousin Lemmie, they would clear the dance floor. Everyone would stop dancing, began to stare, cheer and applaud at "The Lady" because Penny was an awesome dancer. But nothing was more important to her than spending time with her family. This is what she enjoyed most of all. Penny and her daughters were very close. In her, they enjoyed a mother as well as a best friend.Penny was employed with Bectin Dickinson for twenty-five years. Her warm and genuine personality earned the respect and love of her co-workers.There are some people that you meet in life who have a kind way, a mild temper, a caring heart and loving spirit. Penny is very much one of those people. She has left a great legacy.Penny leaves to cherish her memory: her loving devoted husband, Edward Jackson; four daughters, Vivian, Crystal, Deidre and LaTanya Jackson; her mother, Teresa Stanley; mother-in-law, Vivian Jackson; six grandchildren, Ashley, Mark, Darius, Michael, Ebony and Darrien; three brothers, Jerry, Carl, and Don Beads; three sisters, Vanessa Beads, Myra Hamilton (to whom they were very close) and Valerie Walker; six brothers-in-law, Cliff, Greg, Donald and Phil Jackson, Antonio Hamilton and Ralph Walker; two sisters-in-law, JoAnn and Katrinia Beads; four aunts, two uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends."Always loved, and will be always missed. Until we shall all see each other again in Paradise."Lovingly submitted,The Family
