McDUFFEE, WALTER E., was born in Rush Co., Indiana, Jan. 20, 1831, and came to Coos Co., Or., in August, 2883. He settled on Coos Bay, but now resides at Coquille City. His wife's maiden name was Caroline H. White, died June 4, 1888, born in Ohio, Mar. 27, 1843. Their children are Ethan A., 32; Burton, 31; Maud R., 29; Chas R., 26; Fannie L., 17. He enlisted in the union army July 15, 1861, and served till discharged for disability.

Enlisted on 7/13/1861 as a Sergeant.

On 8/15/1861 he mustered into "H" Co. IA 4th Infantry. He was discharged on 12/20/1861.

He died 29 January 1907 in Coquille, Oregon. Walter had lived in Oregon since the late 1800's.

Walter Evans McDuffee moved with his wife Caroline and his children: to Coos Co. Oregon by 1882, and to Coquille City, Coos co., Oregon by 1883.

Caroline died in 1888.


He died after the 4th of Dec 1906 - the last payment on his pension was on the 4th..It registered in December of that year and the pension

payments were cancelled on the 11 of Feb 1907.
