Michael K. Gale Sr., 68, residing in Bellevue, Ohio died unexpectedly Saturday morning at home.

He was born on April 23, 1949 in Elyria, Ohio to the late Peter and Genevieve E. (Jacobs) Gale.

Michael was a U.S. Marine Veteran having served in the Vietnam War.

Michael had worked at the former Scott Paper Company in Sandusky and Central Soya in Bellevue for 20 years before retiring from KBI in Sandusky in 2017 after 11 years of service retired from KBI in 2017 after 11 years of service.

Michael was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the National Rifle Association, American Legion post #83 and the Amvets post #29. He enjoyed camping, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, being outdoors, his family and friends and especially his grandchildren.

Michael is survived by his wife, Rosalina (Cobian) whom he married on June 26, 1971; his children, Jennifer Gale of Sandusky, Michael Gale Jr. of Glenville, New York and Pete Gale of Sandusky; five grandchildren, Nathaniel, Emily, Avah, Mia Gale and Marissa Esposito; two sisters, Peggy Gale of Plymouth, Ohio and JoAnne Merriman of North Carolina; one brother, William Peabody of Sandusky and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Including his parents, Michael is preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Gale in infancy.

Friends may call on Tuesday September 12, 2017 from 4 to 7 P.M. in the Groff Funeral Home and Crematory 1607 E. Perkins Ave. Sandusky, Ohio. Prayer services will be held at 9:30 A.M. in the funeral home followed a 10 A.M. a Mass of Christian Burial in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church 510 Columbus Ave. Sandusky, Ohio. The Rev. Joe Steinbauer will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park. The Marines Forever will conduct military honors.
