John A. Peckham passed away on August 14, 2015. Born in New York City on April 23, 1931, he was the son of Walter J. and Myra (Dodge) Peckham.
John served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954 and worked for Bell Aerospace from 1952 to 1974 then working for Harrison Radiator where he was an engineer from 1974 till his retirement. John was the first person to bring and have Arabian Horses in Niagara County, competing with and judging Equestrian events. He was also a volunteer fireman being a member of the Wendelville Fire Co. where he was also past chief and was also a member of the Hodgeville Station. John was a member of the VFW Post 2535, Mason Sutherland Lodge #826, and Ismailia Temple.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie (Lane) Peckham, on April 18, 2000.
John is survived by his sister-in-law, Pearl Lane; uncle of Randy (Betty) Lane and Jennifer (Larry) Schumacher; cousin of Mel and Joyce Rettmann; and dear friends, Jan and Bill Drehs and family, and Shirley Samaka.
Friends may call on Wednesday, August 26th, from 4:00 - 6:30 PM, in the Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home 242 Genesee Street in Lockport, where Funeral Services will follow at 6:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Niagara County SPCA 2100 Lockport Road Niagara Falls, New York 14304 would be appreciated by the family.
