MATTOON- Louise Sanders, of Mattoon, IL, age 86, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 8:48 A.M. at Mattoon Health Care Center in Mattoon, IL.
The funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, September 17, 2017 at The Apostolic Center Church in Mattoon, IL, with Reverend Derold Doughty officiating. Burial will follow the service at Drummond Cemetery South East of Neoga, IL. Visitation will be held from 12:30 P.M. till the time of service. Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home located at 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Louise was born February 8, 1931 in Mattoon, IL, the daughter of Henry and Ruth (Groves) Lawhorn.
Louise is survived by her children; two sons, Dave Sanders and wife Minda of Mattoon, IL, Gary Sanders and wife Sharon of Mattoon, IL; two daughters, Brenda Wilson and husband Phillip of Mattoon, IL, Becky Cavazos and husband Alberto of Mattoon, IL; one sister, Joanna Delany of Forest, IL; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters, and one daughter.
She was formerly employed at Mattoon Garment Factory for twenty-seven years and a Home Care Provider. Louise was a devout member of The Apostolic Center Church of Mattoon, IL.
She lived her life through her faith, and her church was her pride and joy, never missing a Sunday service. When she was not busy raising her four children, she dedicated her free time to the church as a Sunday School teacher. Besides being loyal to her church and family, she was a faithful Cubs fan through the good times and bad. Louise was adored and loved by all who knew her.
